NorthSide Serves Up Cake and Phoebe Bridgers

NorthSide has added 11 more acts to its 2027 lineup, including Phoebe Bridgers, Cake and Tinariwen, bringing the Aarhus festival to 17 names so far.

The announcements for music festival lineups are heating up across Denmark ahead of the 2027 season.

Now, NorthSide, Aarhus’s biggest multi-day music festival, has announced 11 more names for next year’s lineup, which now counts 17 acts, including The Strokes and Turnstile. The festival runs from 10 to 12 June.

Leading the pack of names is American singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers, who will also be performing in Denmark in December this year.

Phoebe Bridgers

Bridgers has released three studio albums: her debut Stranger in the Alps, her breakout Punisher, and her recent Lost Weekend. Her style is described as indie rock or indie folk.

She is known for songs such as “Motion Sickness”, “Kyoto”, and “I Know the End”, as well as for collaborating on pieces such as “Not Strong Enough”.

Bridgers has won four Grammy Awards on the back of 11 nominations, all four wins from 2024 where she won for amongst others Best Rock Song.

Other big names on the list

Also announced to be attending NorthSide are relatively well-known artists such as American R&B and soul performer Jalen Ngonda, best known for his album Come Around and Love Me.

The lineup also features American hip-hop duo Joey Valence & Brae, known for songs like their breakout “Punk Tactics” and for their humorous, nerdcore-inspired lyrics.

Also on the list is the American genre-bending rock band Cake, known for hits such as “The Distance”, “Short Skirt / Long Jacket”, and their cover of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive”.

The Malian desert-blues collective Tinariwen is also on the list.

Up-and-comers

The list also features a handful of up-and-comers. Amongst them are Canadian experimental rock duo Angine de Poitrine, who are known for their microtonal music and eccentric costumes.

Also on the list are American indie-folk singer-songwriter Truman Sinclair and British alternative musician Pollyfromthedirt.

Three Danish names are also featured on the list: techno-pop band Kind mod Kind, dream-pop rock duo Snuggle, and rap duo Smøgmænd.
