Ownership and funding
You have a right to know who is behind the news you read. Here is who owns The Danish Dispatch and how it is paid for.
Who owns us
The Danish Dispatch is published by Danish Dispatch, a sole proprietorship (enkeltmandsvirksomhed) owned by Jonas Laursen, CVR 46444663. Jonas Laursen owns 100% of The Danish Dispatch. There are no co-owners or investors.
How we are funded
The Danish Dispatch is funded by its founder, Jonas Laursen, with advertising income to come. We do not receive Danish media support (mediestøtte) or grants, and we take no money from political parties.
Our independence
No owner, funder, advertiser or partner can decide what we write about or how. The editor-in-chief, Jonas Laursen, has the final say on all editorial content and is the responsible editor under the Danish Media Liability Act.
Other roles
Jonas Laursen is not a member of any political party and has no other paid work. Outside The Danish Dispatch, he runs a YouTube channel on Danish politics in English, studies for a master’s degree in journalism at Aarhus University and is part of the podcast Auraministeriet.
If we write about an organisation or person that any of us has a connection to, we say so in the article.
Advertising and partnerships
The Danish Dispatch will soon carry advertising and sponsored content. Ads and sponsored content are always clearly labelled and kept separate from our journalism. Advertisers and sponsors have no influence on our editorial decisions. Sponsored content is marked with a clear “Sponsored” label at the top of the article, and no one can pay for news coverage or to change an article.
